Charles Mattacks- "The Poor Chef" has made a name for himself as the author of his top selling book "Eat Cheap But Eat Well". His meals are healthy, cost effective, and delicious, a perfect combination. The inspiration behind the concept was his son, Armani. After moving from California to Florida to raise his son, Charles was desperate to find ways to feed him healthy and affordable meals. Together they created "The Poor Chef" and set out to change the way people eat. The idea was to help real people, create real meals, on a real budget of $7 or less per meal (Feeds 2 Adults).
It started happening, people began to ollow the concept and it was fun. His love for healthy food fueled his passion for health and wellness. Charles aims to educate people on how to buy great food for the family without breaking the budget. He has written a book, has a sauce line, a magazine, and a kids book coming soon and a doll line coming that will be aimed at health and wellness. Additionally, Charles has teamed up with the USDA Pyramid Program, a proponent of early education, teaching children to eat adn shop for healthy foods.
Charles is now promoting a new movement..The Diabetic You, for which he produces a film also entitled "The Diabetic You", a radio show, a news letter, and is in preparation to launch a 1 day seminar that will focus on diabetes and health. Charles new passion and joy is to stamp out Diabetes, as someone who was diagnosed in November of 2011, Charles teamed up with some of the biggest Dr's in the country to help spread the word of diabetes. Charles is also working on a weekly lifestyle diabetes and health show that will air in key markets around the country, the focus will be the patients and Drs as well as new products and medicines on the market.
